Today, we celebrate Moi High School-Kabarak's excellent results. We thank God the Almighty for the exemplary performance that our candidates the Immanuels posted in the last year’s KCSE. We had a candidature of 351 students. Our school posted a mean score of 10.13(B+) which was an improvement from the 2021 results of 0.38.
We can, with a lot of humility, report that we had a transition of 99.145% to the university. Gender-wise, our boys and girls compete favorably. The difference in their performance is very minimal. In last year’s results, boys had a mean score of 10.14 while girls had 10.11. Mrs. Elishebah Cheruiyot, B.Ed., MBA(HRM), OGW, CHIEF PRINCIPAL. This shows that the equality of both genders is emphasized and both are sensitized to the need to work together for their own success here and in the future.
With these results, we thank God Almighty for enabling the Immanuels to register such an exemplary performance. Let us not forget that this is the class that had the shortest stint as candidates since their Form 4 journey began in May last year and ran through to December with very minimal breaks. This was occasioned by the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite all these, God Almighty stood with our candidates plus their teachers and learning went on smoothly. We had put our faith and belief in Him throughout this time. Our firm and humble belief in God has paid off and we raise our eyes daily to Him for His continuous guidance, protection and honour.
I wish to pay special tribute to our Patron and Founder, His Excellency, Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, C.G.H., The Second President of the Republic of Kenya, a man who lived to his fullest by achieving a rare dream of setting up an ultra-modern, co-educational facility based on the Christian principles. A man whose magnanimous heart led him to put all his resources by establishing an institution that will stand the test of time by providing quality education to children from across the continent irrespective of their creed, colour and ethnic background. Many, students have passed through this school and many more are to pass through it with the single notion of realizing the vision that drove Mzee to come up with this school in 1978. Through his pocket, the school has been well-equipped with equipment for the science subjects in the laboratories. The technical subjects have enough rooms which are well-stalked with the requirements for these special subjects. The music laboratory has modern musical instruments. The school is still undergoing a lot of infrastructural development and expansion by coming up with basketball and lawn tennis courts, teachers’ houses, dormitories and classrooms.
Through a strong Chaplaincy Department, the school has tirelessly ministered to the students and staff the word of God which has been the anchor to this school's foundation. This is in line with what Mzee had envisioned that in order to create a responsible and industrious individual, one has to fully live in line with the Biblical teachings. He also gave an opportunity to a number of students to study in this school and his other learning institutions for free. This is to empower children from all walks of life.
The impressive performance of our school is attributed to hard work, teamwork and discipline achieved through a strong Christian foundation. The school reserves its first priority to God and Christian teachings. Furthermore, the school has relied on the wise counsel and unwavering support that it has received from the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors.
Our school also boasts of adequately experienced, well-trained and highly motivated staff; both teaching and non-teaching. The staff is very dedicated and usually goes the extra mile to give their best for the sake of the young Kenyans who have regularly shown their thirst for education. They ensure that our students’ needs both academic, and co-curricular, and their general welfare are well taken care of. The staff and the student relationship is cordial, friendly and humane. This creates an enabling environment for teaching and learning. We ensure that we clear the whole syllabus by the first term of Form 4 and this gives room for intense and comprehensive revision with the candidates.
My office is proud to state that we have a capable, empowered and independent teaching staff who prioritizes on teamwork, firmness and impartiality while addressing the academic needs of the students in line with the school's vision and mission. Together, we have ensured that students’ discipline and other needs are attended to promptly and efficiently.
Apart from academic work, the school has continued to excel in other co-curricular activities. The students have participated in such sports as swimming, football, tennis, chess, and other games. Some students have gone up to the national and international level competitions. The school has also posted excellent performances in music festivals. Students’ talents have been nurtured through such initiatives. The students have also been exposed to the global stage through the World Scholars’ Club. In the past, the members of this club have gone for international competitions overseas and excelled. This year the school Drama Club took part in the sub-county and county levels competitions. These activities make us live with the fact that: “All Work and no Play makes Jack a dull boy.” We thank our dearest parents for supporting their children in such activities and also the teachers for taking up the challenge of training these children to be multi-talented.
