Moi High School Kabarak recently held its 19th Annual Prize-Giving and Thanksgiving Ceremony, a vibrant celebration of academic excellence, character formation, and the collective effort of the entire school community. The event brought together students, parents, staff, alumni, and friends of the school to recognize the outstanding achievements of the 2025 KCSE cohort.
The programme was presided over by Chief Principal Mrs. Elishebah Cheruiyot, MBA(HRM), OGW, who welcomed the congregation and set the tone for the day. The ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on the school’s achievements, give thanks for God’s guidance, and honor the exceptional performance of students across academics and co-curricular activities.

Highlights of the event included addresses from student and parent representatives, as well as remarks from school leadership. Students were represented by Lubang Alfred Wunyi, who reflected on the perseverance and dedication that led to their success. Parents were represented by Dr. Bernard Bett, Senior Scientist at the International Livestock Research Institute and father to Gavin Kipkirui of Form 4P, who commended the school for nurturing both character and academic excellence.
The 2025 KCSE cohort, affectionately known as “The Elishas”, achieved remarkable results, posting a mean score of 10.60, with 83 students attaining grade A and 149 attaining A-. Both boys and girls achieved parity, highlighting the school’s commitment to a balanced, inclusive learning environment. This performance has firmly placed Moi High School Kabarak among the leading secondary schools nationally.
Chief Principal Mrs. Cheruiyot praised the students for their discipline, hard work, and resilience throughout their four-year academic journey. She emphasized that success is the result of strategic preparation, mentorship, and dedication, and encouraged continuing students to aim high and uphold the school’s tradition of excellence.

The ceremony also acknowledged the role of the dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff whose guidance and mentorship make student success possible. Special recognition was given during the presentation of awards, coordinated by Mr. Philip Kibogo and his team, across the following categories:

Mrs. Cheruiyot congratulated awardees and urged all students to strive for personal growth, leadership, and service within the school and the wider community.

The ceremony also emphasized the school’s strong connections with its stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors, who were represented by their respective chairs, and underscored the importance of community support in sustaining the school’s legacy of excellence.
