“Arise and eat” are biblical words that were used by an angel of God two times addressing prophet Elijah in the book of 1 Kings 19:5-7. This was at a time when his prophetic journey had become very tough and had gotten worn out and to the point of giving up. The angel told him to “arise and eat” for the journey is still long. For sure he arose, ate and by the strength of the food he ate and the water he drank, he had strength to go for forty days and forty nights.
In the same way here in Moi high school - Kabarak, once one gets into the gate of the school, whether a student or a staff, they immediately begin a journey. Moi high school - Kabarak is known for excellence in whatever she puts her hands on and more so academics. The journey am talking about here is the journey to excellence.
The pursuit of excellence is long hours of consistent work for both the students and the staff leaving them tired and physically drained. At this point as was for the prophet Elijah, the hospitality comes in handy once and again patting the shoulders of the members to “arise and eat” for the journey continues. This strengthens the members to continue working towards the school goal.
In addition to taking care of meals for our students and staff, we also organize meals for our guests who visit our school from time to time. This may include such as guests on school academic days and thanks and prize-giving days. The hospitality department takes pride in her significant and consistent contribution towards the great and wholesome achievement of this giant learning institution.
It is worth noting that this department is headed by a head of the department with an assistant head of the department working under her. The department works together with the school catering department which is headed by the school caterer with the assistant caterer, head cook and cooks working under him respectively. The deputy principal in charge of girls’ affairs is the overall in charge of the departments.
This far we have come, we acknowledge God as our helper and we are looking forward to trusting Him more for more strength and wisdom to better our services to the school for His glory.
